Vintage recipes: 1930s Zippy egg salad

Hello ladies and gentlemen!

Yes, i am back! I know i know. I haven’t written anything on my blog for a while but if you follow my Instagram account you know how busy i have been. However, i truly missed writting here and i decided to get back to it (at least as much as i can)!

In today’s post i decided to talk a little bit about vintage recipes. I was planning to actually try some and i thought it would be nice to include some here as well! Yesterday, i decided to try the ‘zippy egg salad’ (a recipe i found on Taste of Home) which has its roots in the 1930s.

It is most likely to be a French recipe since the British English name ‘egg mayonnaise’ is a translation of ‘oeufs mayonnaise’. 

However, the recipe was being used a lot in the US back then and it still does. It is a very easy, quick and delicious recipe i totally reccomend!

Easy peasy!

The original recipe also includes lemon juice but i did not add it. If you wish to use it though just add a couple of lemon juice drops and it might give it an extra ‘zip’!
