Hello ladies and gentlemen!
Yes, i am back! I know i know. I haven’t written anything on my blog for a while but if you follow my Instagram account you know how busy i have been. However, i truly missed writting here and i decided to get back to it (at least as much as i can)!
In today’s post i decided to talk a little bit about vintage recipes. I was planning to actually try some and i thought it would be nice to include some here as well! Yesterday, i decided to try the ‘zippy egg salad’ (a recipe i found on Taste of Home) which has its roots in the 1930s.
It is most likely to be a French recipe since the British English name ‘egg mayonnaise’ is a translation of ‘oeufs mayonnaise’.
However, the recipe was being used a lot in the US back then and it still does. It is a very easy, quick and delicious recipe i totally reccomend!
Let’s see the recipe though!
The original recipe also includes lemon juice but i did not add it. If you wish to use it though just add a couple of lemon juice drops and it might give it an extra ‘zip’!
I really hope you liked today’s post and if you do try the recipe tell me your thoughts about it! Also, if you know any vintage recipes yourself let me know!
Thank you for reading darlings. I’ll see you on my next post!
A Vintage Athenian 💋
